Steve Bassett has been playing and writing music since he was 7. Early on, he was influenced by wonderful harmonic and melodic structures of the Beatles. Later, he was introduced to the Grateful Dead and fell in love with the beautiful musical tapestry they wove, their evocative lyrics of Americana, and the way they integrated blues, folk, jazz and rock into a cohesive sound. Steve studied Music Composition in college, which provide a firm foundation in Music Theory and arranging. Steve performs locally with his band, the Steve Bassett Band, as well as solo acoustic. His rich musical catalog owes much to his eclectic influences and formal education
